The AT500NC Series uses Class-D output stages (the 'NC' nodding to Hypex nCore-style module technology) to deliver ATI's typical high output power with far less heat and bulk than the brand's traditional Class A/B designs. This makes it a practical choice for multi-zone or multichannel installs where rack space and thermal management are real constraints, without giving up the current delivery ATI is known for.
